OM-100 Omnichord
OM-100 Omnichord
Forget the moon landing, this fine specimen of OM-100 beauty is a far greater feat of human engineering! One small step for man could be a big step for you. The OM-100, heir to the Omnichord throne (before it would later be outshone by it’s older brother the OM-200, has all the vibe and none of the MIDI. This thing slaps!
This OM-100 comes tucked away in a beautiful original hard case, all warm and snug. Works with batteries and comes with a replacement power supply.
The OM-100, which Suzuki released in the late 80's alongside its futuristic counterpart the OM-200, was the first step into a new design & a departure from the beloved Omnichord chimes that were featured on everything from the Portachord to the OM-84.
The OM-100 ditches the "Omnichord" setting for a set of 10 strumplate sounds that are, in our opinion, straight out of a heavenly video game. Combined with the optional Vibrato setting (why didn't they keep this phenomenal sound on the later models??) and a marvelously long sustain, the OM-100 isn't the same vintage Omnichord sound that lots of folks are familiar with from the OM27, but its reinvisioned sounds are unique, soaring synth textures that shine on top of any arrangement.
Important to note is the departure of the drum sounds upon manufacturing the OM-100 and 200; long-gone are the early 80's, tight drum machine tones, and instead Suzuki instituted blocky & lo-fi drum rhythms. Not our favorite, but hey, it probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
The OM-100 is almost identical to the OM-200, except the OM-200 sports a MIDI Output & a slightly lower noise floor.
